Weapon Animation Validation #17 M1A1 Thompson Hip Fire Burst Validation
We’ve completed another weapon animation validation test for the Heroes & Generals Unreal Engine 5 Rebuild.
This prototype focuses specifically on the M1A1 Thompson hip fire burst animation, including automatic fire behavior, burst recoil timing, repeated weapon kick, weapon movement, hand stability, recovery pacing, synchronization, and overall first person weapon feel.
What This Test Covers:
-M1A1 Thompson hip fire burst animation
-Automatic fire behavior
-Burst recoil timing
-Weapon movement during sustained fire
-Hand movement and stability
-Recovery pacing between shots
-Overall pacing and first person feel
The side by side comparison uses original H&G reference footage alongside the current prototype animation, aligned for timing and visual comparison.
These animation tests may be shown either directly from animation software or from Unreal Engine, depending on the current stage of testing.
This is not a visual showcase. The weapon, arms, rig, textures, and other presentation elements are placeholders.
The goal is to validate weapon animations for the weapons currently planned for the Heroes & Generals Rebuild vertical slice before they are integrated into the full prototype environment.
Result:
The hip fire burst sequence follows the expected structure and pacing.
Burst recoil timing aligns closely with the original reference.
Repeated weapon kick, recovery pacing, and return to control remain consistent with the intended H&G feel.
Hand and weapon movement read clearly from a first person perspective.
The M1A1 Thompson hip fire burst animation is considered successfully validated at the prototype stage.
