Weapon Animation Validation #14 M1A1 Thompson Hip Fire Shot Validation
We’ve completed another weapon animation validation test for the Heroes & Generals Unreal Engine 5 Rebuild.
This prototype focuses specifically on the M1A1 Thompson hip fire shot animation, including weapon reaction, recoil timing, hand movement, weapon recovery, pacing, synchronization, and overall first person weapon feel.
What This Test Covers:
M1A1 Thompson hip fire shot animation
Initial weapon reaction
Recoil timing
Weapon kick and recovery
Hand movement and stability
Weapon positioning
Return to idle timing
Overall pacing and first person feel
The side by side comparison uses original H&G reference footage alongside the current prototype animation, aligned for timing and visual comparison.
These animation tests may be shown either directly from animation software or from Unreal Engine, depending on the current stage of testing.
This is not a visual showcase. The weapon, arms, rig, textures, and other presentation elements are placeholders.
The goal is to validate weapon animations for the weapons currently planned for the Heroes & Generals Rebuild vertical slice before they are integrated into the full prototype environment.
Result:
The hip fire shot sequence follows the expected structure and pacing.
Weapon reaction and recoil timing align closely with the original reference.
Hand and weapon movement remain consistent with the intended H&G feel.
Weapon recovery and return to idle timing are reading clearly from a first person perspective.
The M1A1 Thompson hip fire shot animation is considered successfully validated at the prototype stage.
