Weapon Animation Validation #9 Maschinenpistole 40 Sprint Enter Movement
We’ve completed the next weapon animation validation test for the Heroes & Generals rebuild.
This prototype focuses specifically on the Maschinenpistole 40 (MP40) sprint enter animation, including the transition from the weapon held forward into the upright sprint position, hand movement, weapon stability, weapon positioning, pacing, synchronization, and overall first person weapon feel.
What This Test Covers:
Maschinenpistole 40 sprint enter animation
Transition from the weapon held forward into the upright sprint position
Sprint enter weapon movement
How sprinting forces the weapon into the upright position
Hand movement during the transition
Weapon stability during sprint entry
Weapon positioning as sprint begins
Weapon recovery and settling into the sprint pose
Sprint transition rhythm and pacing
Overall first person weapon feel
The side by side comparison uses original H&G reference footage alongside the current prototype animation, aligned for timing and visual comparison.
These animation tests may be shown either directly from animation software or from Unreal Engine, depending on the current stage of testing.
This is not a visual showcase. The weapon, arms, rig, textures, weapon positioning, and other presentation elements are placeholders.
The goal is to validate weapon animations for the weapons currently planned for the vertical slice before they are integrated into the full prototype environment.
Result:
The sprint enter animation follows the expected structure and pacing.
The transition into the upright sprint position reads clearly from a first person perspective.
The weapon moves from the forward held position into the sprint position in a controlled way.
Hand and weapon movement remain controlled and consistent with the intended H&G feel.
The weapon settles naturally into the sprint pose and remains readable during the transition.
