Weapon Animation Validation #13 Maschinenpistole 40 Prone Forward Movement
We’ve completed the next weapon animation validation test for the Heroes & Generals rebuild.
This prototype focuses specifically on the Maschinenpistole 40 (MP40) prone forward animation, including weapon movement while prone and moving forward, how the weapon is held in the lower stance, hand movement, weapon stability, weapon positioning, pacing, synchronization, and overall first person weapon feel.
What This Test Covers:
Maschinenpistole 40 prone forward animation
Prone forward weapon movement
Weapon movement while prone and moving forward
How the weapon is held in the lower stance
Hand movement during prone movement
Weapon stability while moving forward in prone
Weapon positioning in the prone forward position
Prone movement rhythm and pacing
Overall first person weapon feel
The side by side comparison uses original H&G reference footage alongside the current prototype animation, aligned for timing and visual comparison.
These animation tests may be shown either directly from animation software or from Unreal Engine, depending on the current stage of testing.
This is not a visual showcase. The weapon, arms, rig, textures, weapon positioning, and other presentation elements are placeholders.
The goal is to validate weapon animations for the weapons currently planned for the vertical slice before they are integrated into the full prototype environment.
Result:
The prone forward animation follows the expected structure and pacing.
The prone forward movement reads clearly from a first person perspective.
The weapon movement while prone aligns closely with the original reference.
Hand and weapon movement remain controlled and consistent with the intended H&G feel.
The weapon remains stable and readable in the lower stance during prone movement.
With this test complete, the MP40 weapon animation validation set is now complete for Stage 1.
This marks 1 of 4 vertical slice weapons completed through the current animation validation process.
The next weapon validation set is planned to begin next week.
