Development Update: Basic Movement Validation Complete

The basic movement validation and comparison testing phase for the Heroes & Generals Unreal Engine rebuild is now complete.
This work focused on establishing the foundational movement behavior, pacing, responsiveness, and transitions needed before expanding into additional gameplay and presentation systems.
These tests were prototype level and were intended to prove the underlying foundation rather than represent final animation or visual quality.
What Comes Next
The next development focus will include:
Basic first person weapon animation tests
Weapon handling, recoil, reloads, and presentation
ADS development as part of the broader weapon-handling system
Early art direction and asset style tests
Visual comparisons and community screenings
Continued technical and production planning
Identifying the right development studio partner for the playable vertical slice and future production
Basic movement validation being complete does not mean every advanced movement behavior is finished. Systems such as ADS are better developed alongside the weapon rig, camera behavior, sight alignment, and first-person animation work.
We will continue sharing progress through YouTube comparisons, Discord announcements, the email newsletter, the forums, and the Insight Interactive website.
We are also considering opening broader Discord community chat channels later this year as the project and moderation structure continue to grow.
Thank you to everyone who followed the movement testing series and shared feedback. There is still a long road ahead, but completing this foundation gives us something real to build on as we move into more visually developed work.
