Weapon Animation Validation #5 Maschinenpistole 40 ADS Out
We’ve completed the next weapon animation validation test for Heroes & Generals.
This prototype focuses specifically on the Maschinenpistole 40 (MP40) ADS out animation, including the transition from aiming down sights back to hip fire position, return to hip timing, sight release, hand movement, weapon positioning, pacing, synchronization, and overall first person weapon feel.
What This Test Covers:
Maschinenpistole 40 ADS out animation
Transition from aiming down sights back to hip-fire position
Return to hip timing
Sight release and weapon movement
Hand movement during the transition
Weapon positioning and stability
Transition smoothness
Overall pacing and first person feel
The side by side comparison uses original H&G reference footage alongside the current prototype animation, aligned for timing and visual comparison.
These animation tests may be shown either directly from animation software or from Unreal Engine, depending on the current stage of testing.
This is not a visual showcase. The weapon, arms, rig, textures, and other presentation elements are placeholders.
The goal is to validate weapon animations for the weapons currently planned for the vertical slice before they are integrated into the full prototype environment.
Result:
The ADS out animation follows the expected structure and pacing.
Return to hip timing aligns closely with the original reference.
Sight release and weapon movement remain clear from a first person perspective.
Hand and weapon movement remain controlled and consistent with the intended H&G feel.
The animation transitions cleanly from aiming down sights back to hip-fire position.
