Movement Validation #3 Strafe
We’ve completed the next Unreal Engine movement validation test for Heroes & Generals.
This prototype focuses exclusively on replicating original strafe behavior before expanding into additional movement systems.
What This Test Covers
Initial strafe response timing (left/right input)
Lateral movement feel and groundedness
Direction switching behavior (strafe left ↔ right)
Momentum and inertia during reversals
The side-by-side comparison uses original H&G reference footage alongside the current Unreal prototype build, tested with direct frame-by-frame analysis.
This is not a visual showcase. Animations, assets, and presentation are placeholders.
The goal is to validate that H&G’s core movement feel can be replicated accurately in Unreal Engine.
Strafe behavior now matches the original reference perfectly under frame testing.
What’s Next
test: jump behavior
We will continue validating core movement step by step before expanding scope.
