Weapon Animation Validation #2 Maschinenpistole 40 Hip-Fire Shot
We’ve completed the next weapon animation validation test for Heroes & Generals.
This prototype focuses specifically on the Maschinenpistole 40 (MP40) hip-fire shot animation, including weapon reaction, recoil timing, hand movement, weapon recovery, pacing, synchronization, and overall first-person weapon feel.
What This Test Covers:
Maschinenpistole 40 hip-fire shot animation
Single-shot weapon reaction
Recoil timing
Hand movement and response
Weapon kick and recovery
Return to idle behavior
Overall pacing and first person feel
The side by side comparison uses original H&G reference footage alongside the current prototype animation, aligned for timing and visual comparison.
These animation tests may be shown either directly from animation software or from Unreal Engine, depending on the current stage of testing.
This is not a visual showcase. The weapon, arms, rig, textures, and other presentation elements are placeholders.
The goal is to validate weapon animations for the weapons currently planned for the vertical slice before they are integrated into the full prototype environment.
Result:
The hip-fire shot follows the expected structure and pacing.
Weapon reaction and recoil timing align closely with the original reference.
Hand and weapon movement remain controlled and consistent with the intended H&G feel.
The animation returns clearly toward the hip-fire position after firing.
The Maschinenpistole 40 hip-fire shot animation is considered successfully validated at the prototype stage.

From this clip, the gun's positioning and size seem very different compared to the original game. I really hope you will do your absolute best to make this new H&G look and feel as close as possible to the original, in terms of both the visual style as well as mechanics-wise. Attention to detail is what matters most and I just want the original game back (minus the tank/armor update and the pay-to-win).. I have faith in you!! Remember, attention to detail! Thanks for sharing.
