Weapon Animation Validation #4 Maschinenpistole 40 ADS Shot
We’ve completed the next weapon animation validation test for Heroes & Generals.
This prototype focuses specifically on the Maschinenpistole 40 (MP40) ADS shot animation, including aimed weapon reaction, ADS recoil timing, sight movement, weapon recovery, pacing, synchronization, and overall first person weapon feel.
What This Test Covers:
Maschinenpistole 40 ADS shot animation
Single shot while aiming down sights
ADS recoil timing
Sight movement during firing
Weapon kick and recovery
Hand stability while aiming
Return to ADS behavior
Overall pacing and first-person feel
The side by side comparison uses original H&G reference footage alongside the current prototype animation, aligned for timing and visual comparison.
These animation tests may be shown either directly from animation software or from Unreal Engine, depending on the current stage of testing.
This is not a visual showcase. The weapon, arms, rig, textures, and other presentation elements are placeholders.
The goal is to validate weapon animations for the weapons currently planned for the vertical slice before they are integrated into the full prototype environment.
Result:
The ADS shot follows the expected structure and pacing.
ADS recoil timing aligns closely with the original reference.
Sight movement and weapon recovery remain clear from a first person perspective.
Hand and weapon movement remain controlled and consistent with the intended H&G feel.
The animation returns cleanly toward the aiming down sights position after firing.
