Movement Validation #13 Diagonal Movement
We’ve completed the diagonal movement validation test for Heroes & Generals.
This prototype focuses specifically on analyzing how player movement behaves while moving diagonally, including combined directional input, movement path stability, camera influence, responsiveness, and overall grounded movement feel.
What This Test Covers:
Diagonal movement behavior
W + A / W + D movement input
Movement direction stability
Camera influence during diagonal movement
Directional responsiveness
Grounded movement and weight feel
The side by side comparison uses original H&G reference footage alongside the current Unreal prototype build, aligned at the start of movement for consistency.
This is not a visual showcase. Animations, assets, and presentations are placeholders. No animations are used in this test.
The goal is to validate that Heroes & Generals diagonal movement behavior can be reproduced faithfully in Unreal Engine.
Result:
Diagonal movement follows the expected W + A / W + D movement path.
Movement remains stable, predictable, and input driven.
Camera movement applies subtle influence without fully overriding directional input.
Diagonal movement behavior is considered validated.
